There are thousands of ways that you can promote affiliate products and make money. Some of them, like pay per click programs, can be very expensive if you don’t know what you are doing. If you are new to Internet marketing, you would be well served to do some research before using any of the pay per click programs to make money using affiliate products. You would be better off by starting out using some of the free marketing techniques for your affiliate business.

One of the most effective free marketing methods available is article writing. If you can write a 300 to 500 word article, you can successfully market affiliate products. At a minimum, you should write at least 3 articles a week. If you can write one or more articles a day, you make explosive affiliate income.

The secret to making affiliate income by writing articles is three-fold.

1. You have to target every article you write to the affiliate product that you are promoting. It is easiest to do this if you promote three or four affiliate products that are all in related fields. That way, all of your articles will be on similar subjects and you will quickly be seen as an expert in that area.

2. Use an effective resource box for every article you write. Include two or three links in each one. One link should be directed at your opt in page. The remaining links should point to products that you are promoting. This gives you the best of all worlds; you grow your list and at the same time, you earn affiliate income.

3. We want our articles, and more importantly, our links, to be seen by as many people as possible. In order to accomplish this goal, submit your articles to 10 or 15 of the largest article directories. The largest directories get the most visitors to their sites. By submitting to these sites, you will maximize your viewing audience. As an added bonus, some of those readers will use your articles on their websites, which further increases your readership.
