The Happiest Country in The World

A report from Reuters indicated that the happiest country in the world is Denmark. This is based on results from a survey, World Values Survey which was funded by the U.S. government.

Torn by political and social strife, Zimbabwe is the least happy, while the United States considered as the riches nation ranked 16th in the list.

As an overall result, the world is getting happier based on the survey result. One of the factors that is considered which affected the result is peace. This was the pronouncement of Ronald Inglehart, a political scientist at the University of Michigans’ Institute for Social Research who directed the study.

The following countries also rank highly on the survey, Puerto Rico, Columbia, Northern Ireland, Canada, Netherlands, Iceland, Sweden, and Switzerland

Inglehart said that although the United States is not the happiest country, from the overall perspective it’s definitely on the brighter side. It is very prosperous and it ranks relatively high in gender equality, tolerance of ethnic and social diversity and has high level of freedom.
