The health benefits of honey are truly amazing. According to the linked article, honey is not only used as a natural sweetener, but can also be used in wound management as its antibacterial and antifungal properties are popular with many people who use it instead of store-bought chemicals.

Honey-Lemon Tea

I've always enjoyed honey-lemon hot and iced tea and a bit of honey in a fruit smoothie. It's a staple in my home.

When I first moved to Texas, I heard that eating local honey would help build up tolerance to the juniper pollen that sparks hayfever in many people each year. Not sure if it's true, but since I used honey regularly anyway I bought local honey. My first year I did have some hayfever on those high pollen count days, but after a year or so it stopped bothering me. Wheteher that was from the honey or just building up tolerance from exposure, I don't know.

Yes, that happened to me too

I specifically bought alfalfa honey to build up tolerance and it did help a bit. But I hear Texas, specifically Austin, has a lot of allergens and if honey helps, I'd go for it!

Peace,

Honey: It's not just for pancakes anymore

I just read something about honey being an effective treatment for wounds a few weeks ago. Next time I have a cut of some sort, I might just dab a little honey on the bandaid. : )

Yep, the juniper in Central Texas is pretty bad

I never really had any serious problems with pollen until I moved to Texas, but at least it was only the first year there. It doesn't really bother me anymore.
