The Huaihe River Basin Remains Heavily Polluted

in this area.

Recent test showed that more than half the pipes dumping waste into the river continured to measure over 30% above the target pollution reduction levels.

The Huaihe River, China's third largest, stretches more than 1,000 km through Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and Shandong provinces. Hundreds of millions of Chinese depend on it as a primary water source. That same polluted water is used to manufacture goods, grow foods, and farm fish exported around the world.

I always wonder when I see toys containing water imported from China what contaminate lurks inside that toy.
