The importance of being efficient

I can’t count how many times I’ve watched people do things that just don’t make any since at all. They don’t stop for a second to think that what they are doing is only costing them more time, money or
even doing something that they could’ve avoided altogether.
I used to work at a horse ranch, where time was precious to me. I learned quickly how to save time so that I could do other things. I remember I used to pull the wheel barrow into the stall half way where the wheel part was sticking out and the handles were sticking in the stall. This made it more efficient so that when I threw the manure and wet shavings in the wheel barrow it wouldn’t create a mess outside the stall. This helped save time from having to sweep up in front of the stall every time.
There were so many little things that I did around that ranch that made a world of difference. From bagging trash cans so that the bags wouldn’t fall into the cans to using what we had around the ranch to fix things rather then go out and spend more money instead of saving it. Below is 3 very simple rules to live by.
1. Watch other people do the same job your doing. See if you can improve the method or improvise to make it easier.
2. Organize your things. Make them easily assessable and always put them back when you’re done. This helps to save valuable time.
3. Make a list before you go to bed or when you get up in the morning of all the things you need to get done and one by one go down that list and mark them off when you are done with the chore.
