The Importance of Titles In Your Xomba Posts

A topic that has been mentioned in our Make Money section that does not get enough attention is the the importance of the title of your post on Xomba.

When people come to Xomba from the search engines, they usually arrive here because the title you have written matches with what they are searching for. This is something that you need to keep in mind when writing the title of your post. Make your title read the way you would search for the topic.

For example, a title like "Polaroid Camera" will never bring you any traffic because it is not specific enough. A better title would be "New 10 Mega Pixel Camera Unveiled By Polaroid". Not only will it help you draw more traffic from search engines, it will also help people on Xomba better understand what your post is about.

Another important thing to remember is that titles should always be at least 3 words long. No one will find posts that have only one or two word titles.

Hopefully these tips will help you find more success writing here at Xomba.

I like the way things are headed on Xomba

Just in the few tweaks Nick has completed here have given us better awareness of how many options we truly have as writers and how much information is at our fingertips. The font and colors are very attractive and actually easy on the eyes. There are other places that don't have this kind of attention to detail and whose colors, fonts, and sizing make it a chore to read, which is like saying that they don't value visitors going there from search engines looking for information. No, I like the way things are headed here and am looking forward to seeing the result of Nick's completed vision for Xomba. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

Title Makes a Lot

I went through the post as well as all the valuable comments post by different xomba members who honorable and experienced in this field of money making and search engine optimization. Xomba is great to me now. They are not only helping writing useful article here but also time to time they are changing the look of this home page and other pages layout. I think, it is my personal view that to get more clicks on the adsense ads and make the xomba post more attractive and user friendly xomba admin should make some more changes on this home page as well as other posting page. Exactly I can'nt tell what they should do. They the xomba admin should do some thing which I feel to make the post result attractive. They may change the ad format of adsense as well as the big banner ad which is always shown at the top of every page. That banner should be adjusted with its length and position. May I request other valuable xomba members to make comments on my suggestion to xomba admin. Thank You.

Good point Dedom.

Titles

Very good points have been brought up. If you are out to make money on Xomba, keep in mind that even though google trends is extremely useful, writing titles that are one or two words will hardly ever get a good rank. Also, copying the trend title will likely not do well because it simply doesn't get to the point. If Michael Jordan came back to the NBA, you might see "Michael Jordan" as a search trend. Giving the title Michael Jordan would certainly not do well. Imagine the thousands of websites that mention the name Michael Jordan. It is just too much competition. However, if you titled it something like Michael Jordan Back In NBA, you are more likely to get traffic. This is because it would be a new event, and while there may be other sites reporting the same news, it is allowing you to compete with less websites for a high search rank.

Titles

"Make your title read the way you would search for the topic." It seems a lot of people are doing just that... they're using titles that exactly match the search terms as listed in Google Trends (even if those search terms are one word, are misspelled, or are "www.something.com"). I guess people feel that using the exact search terms will get them ranked high in the results. Maybe it works and is making money for these people, since some folks have put up hundreds of blurbs written this way. I personally don't think it looks attractive or helpful, but that's my opinion. There seems to have been a number of one-word titles recently. One thing that grates on me as a writer is titles that are all lower-case, especially if they have proper names in them, such as a person's name or the name of a state or country or state university. If someone was looking for information on an institution of higher education, I wonder if they would actually click on a link that doesn't even capitalize the name of the state? Just my 14.2 cents.

About the Money

Xomba Mod is dead on. This only applies to making money. If you are just on Xomba to write for the sake of writing then don't concern yourself with a search engine friendly title. As a general rule always make sure your title describes what you are talking about. Everyone wants a witty title, but in reality a descriptive title usually gets more attention. Please just make sure your titles are not all caps.

Title last written

Celanith As a writer I often don't write the title until the article is done. A few times though I forgot to put in a title and that was not good. But I certainly understand what your saying and agree with it.

Celanith

Hello everyone, stop and set awhile.

I have a habit of writing the title last

Even going back to when I first got started writing, I was always told the title of the article should be written last since the article may go in a different direction than when you first started writing it. So, to be accurate the title should be written after the article is completed and the best way to describe its contents can be planned. I didn't realize that anything less than three words won't be found, but it stands to reason that anything we write here is going to be competing against hundreds and thousands of other articles on the same general subject, so it would behoove us to be a distinctive as possible. Thanks for the heads up! DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?
