The Intelligent Donkey

Have you ever met someone who has the answer to every question? I know a few who do and have even been told on occasion that "I have all the answers" or "have an answer to everything". I am not sure that I do really...I only know how to answer other peoples questions not my own, of course if I knew the answers to my own questions, I wouldn't have to ask eh?

I remember in school, one of my teachers telling me that "there is no such thing as a stupid question", I beg to differ. There are of course many of them. For example, "are you still here?"...sometimes, depending on my mood I will grace that one with an answer, very likely there will be a twinge of sarcasm in it. Other times, I might just give "the look", you know the one, sort of eyeball the questioner over the brim of the glasses kind of look.

The best questions are the ones that are not really stupid or silly but give me the opportunity to be creative in my response..."How far does this rain go?" I had this asked by many travellers who would stop in for a coffee and respite from the weather. Answer: "all the way down to the ground". One of my favorites, "Just who do you think you are?" hmmm...again the "look" and there are just too many good ones for that question.

I have over the years, gotten my fair share of eyerolls and shoulder shrugs but still won't give up my pursuit of finding the "perfect answer". So next time you see me doing something, and it is obvious what I am doing, and you still feel the need to ask me "what are you doing?", be prepared for my "sparkling personality" to shine through in my response. I just can't help myself, I think maybe I just need a more challenging question.
