The IRS Tax Stimulus Payment: Comment & Schedule

With the announcement of payments beginning early, I, like many others expected my refund early by, my calculations, five days. This did not prove true.

Maybe it did come early, but, I did not realize it. It's original date for delivery was May 9, and, after the announcement of early delivery, it still arrived on May 9. My last two numbers were 72, and my payment was "direct-deposit," thus the May 9th date.

The difference, I did notice, when looking at the scheduled-date-of-payment was; before the early announcement the schedule said “payments would begin on May 9,” and after the early announcement the schedule said “payments would be transmitted no later than May 9.”

So, with all due respect to the IRS, I guess my payment did arrive early.

To help folks who are still wondering, I have included, below, the current schedule, as obtained from the IRS Website:

PAPER CHECK:

10 through 18---------------------May 23
19 through 25---------------------May 30
26 through 38---------------------June 6
39 through 51---------------------June 13
52 through 63---------------------June 20
64 through 75---------------------June 27

88 through 99---------------------July 11
