THE BIG ONE
I am the rage that has been
tamped down so deep
that there is no light

"Where is that You who
laughed with me
far into the night?"

I am the becoming of
an unfamiliar soul
It isn't my love,
but my trust that
you stole

I am the disappointment
of promises not kept
The "I Love You, I'm sorry"
That You never meant

I am the end of
the proverbial rope
I am what's left
when there's no longer hope

I am the killer inside
that you've helped to create
with your ignorance, arrogance
and misguided hate

I am your death
come to call
I am "your life in my hands"
like mine was to you
and what did you do?....

You tried to extinguish
the light you beheld
But unfortunately for you
