The Mind Behind "The Matrix" Jean Baudrillard Has Died at 77

Jean Baudrillard, the post-modern philosopher, intellectual, and writer, whose theories about reality and modern life show up in popular culture through the blockbuster movie The Matrix, has died at age 77.

The author of "Simulacra and Simulation," Baudrillard leaves behind a legacy of post-modern ideas about human consciousness and its relation with reality and fantasy.
