The Murder of Jennifer Cave

The murder of Jennifer Cave has been brought to public attention once again, with the CBS airing its 48 Hours interview with Laura Hall.

Jennifer Cave was found murdered on 17 August 2005. Her body lay in the bath-tub in the apartment of Hall's boyfriend, Colton Pitonyak.

When the body was later discovered, it was found to have been dismembered. The head had been severed. Jennifer Cave had been killed by a gunshot, which pierced her heart. After the killing the body had been mutilated, with dozens of stabs, and the head shot again.

Pitonyak, was found guilty of the murder, while Hall was found guilty of mutilating the body of Jennifer Cave. It was Pitonyak's testimony that Hall was the one who dismembered Cave's body.

After the killing, Hall and her boyfriend went to Mexico. Hall claims that she did so out of fear for her life. Hall claims she merely discovered the body, and took no part in the crime or in the body's dismemberment.

They were caught after Hall's father called the police, fearing that Pitonyak had kidnapped her. The Mexican authorities handed them over and they were brought back to the US. Hall was sentenced to five years' imprisonment.

The broadcast has attracted mixed reactions. Hall claims that the only way to reveal the truth was to go on television. Her case was that whatever she did, it was out of love and fear of Pitonyak.

Cave's boyfriend, Scott Engle, calls her interview a fake, saying that she showed no remorse.

Yeah Laura did it!

Wow, its funny how the blame gets pointed elsewhere and no one takes responsibility for their actions, but I was Halls cellmate and trust....she is NOT innocent...when you murder someone or even HELP and have a part in the ordeal..they come back to haunt you....I remember the bruise it left on her head when she said the victim "pushed" her off the top bunk...hmmm..she did it!
