The Perfect Chain Letter

The Perfect Chain Letter

I keep getting these things, some of them are kind of cute until you get to the end and they threaten you with some horrible disaster if you don't forward it to at least five friends.
I'm thinking I might just design one that brings good luck if you promise not to forward it to anybody at all...the problem with that is only one person would get to see it - ever. I guess it wouldn't really be in the "chain letter" category then, perfect.
There is also the option of having a chain letter with bad luck to follow for anybody who sends it forward or doesn't, I would send this one to all those chain letter fans just to confuse them. What fun!!!
I guess it is a bit easier these days to forward them now, with internet and all, I remember getting one when I was much younger (back in the 'snail mail' days) and had to write it out and send it to 10 people - just a bit gullible ya.
As superstitious as I am, I look at it as "a walk on the wild side" by not forwarding them, yep,I'm riding the edge and taking big risks by just deleting the chain letters when I get them.

Revenge on them

If you wanted, you could get revenge on those who participate in the pay-to-play chain letters by sending everyone on the list something other than money. Maybe a dirty sock or something equally smelly. Or send them a bill for the ten minutes you'll never get back after reading their letter. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

chain letters = spam

I do agree, I thought it would be fun to get revenge on all the nuts that like to send them. I just don't understand what they get out of it...not love or money. The sad stories are the worst when they prey on everyones compassion. thank you for the feedback:)

Chain Letters=Spam

I find it easier to just toss the mail and delete the endless forwards than subject myself to someone's version of a send-it-for-the-sake-of-sending-it exercise. I am not a superstitious man, so I don't feel the need to buy into someone else's misguided fears. Plus, if someone who reads a feel-good story feels good by forwarding it on, it shouldn't matter whether I read it or not--they still got value out of their action; I don't look externally to find my happiness. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?
