The Seventh Sense

The Seventh Sense

Sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch and for some unusual individuals, the sixth sense or “extra sensory perception” aka esp. but what about the seventh sense? It sometimes gets neglected when considering the other five or six senses, however, is quite a concern when meeting somebody who doesn’t seem to have one. It is after all, independent of all the other senses.

It is a buffer for our ego protecting us from humiliation, frustration and it can prevent anger as well as ulcers. It relaxes us, alleviating tension and making our mood more positive even in the toughest of times. It can keep us from harm, preventing illness and helping to cure whatever ails us. It has the power to cause tears or to stop them.

It is very necessary to mental health, but is ever taken for granted. As with the other senses, it does not deteriorate with advanced age and in some cases can help to maintain youth. It can excite and entertain for hours because it is rarely found to be boring. It knows no political boundaries, and harbours no prejudices, because those are born of our other senses. If you have a good one, it will attract people to you and folks will remember you because of it. It is an essential component of happiness, helping us to see the brighter side of things thus enhancing some of the other senses.

It can become twisted, warped, dry and cracked but still be considered healthy. Although it should be nurtured, there are no special vitamin or mineral supplements to make it stronger. There aren’t any set levels that we need to maintain, no gauges to measure it and no specialist who can analyze it and therefore no yearly check-up for it. Even though it cannot be physically assessed, as with the other senses, no person has ever, or can ever deny it’s existence. You do not need any special “gift” to have or appreciate it, this sense is natural to all of us. When used on a regular basis, it can enhance our lives, create pathways of understanding and bridge the gap between our hearts.

We each have our own unique one and for that we should be thankful and grateful because it separates us from our own indifference, connecting us to those nearby, bringing many to a common ground. We should honor this sense every day by bringing laughter to every person we meet, for in this way we can share it with others as no other sense can be shared.

How Could binkdonk PosSiBly Be "Lonely"?

I think I know—the same reason all us smartie-smart-smarterers are: WE WON'T SHUT UP about all this stuff we know (whether anyone else is "supposed to know" or not)!
