The text book of 7th standard created a lot of controversies
Kerala, the god’s own country, is also the land of controversies. Here people are fully literate and their social sense is much higher compared to other states in India. But today a very interesting controversy over a text book of 7th standard creating a lot of headache to the government.
The communist government of Kerala is being severely criticized for using a text book for preaching communism! The critics including the priests of different communities of the view that the text should be banned at any cost. The chapter in the 24th page named, JEEVAN WITH NO RELIGION’ is the major reason for the controversy.
In this chapter a new boy is coming to a new school for admission with his parents. The teacher of the school realized that the father is Muslim and mother is Hindu. Then the teacher told the parents that they need to specify in which religion the boy belongs to because the teachers need to specify the matter in the application form. But father told the teacher that there is no need to fill that column and the boy would select his caste in the right time if he thinks so. This is the conclusion of the chapter.
Another controversy begins and the result is that every one in Kerala took the text book in their hand and started to study at least to join the controversy. Really interesting right? The latest of the story that the government has appointed an expert committee for the inquiry and every one waiting for the proposal.
The action of the government is fair or not?
