Mohammad RafiMohammad Rafi

Mohammad Rafi is the legendary playback singer of Bollywood and today is the 28th Death Anniversary. He will always be remembered as the Timeless Melody of those days. His singing career spanned three decades of bollywood leading actors like Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra etc..

On 31st July, the whole nation pays tribute to this great singer. He passed away when he was 56 years old in Mumbai. His last movie Aas Paas has his timeless song that echos through time and keeps his memory fresh.

His voice held the melody that suited any and every mood, be it romantic, sad, patriotic or fun song. He was mostly a classical singer, but managed to sing for actors like Shammi Kapoor who had many fun songs in all his films. Who can forget the song "yahoooo" from the movie "Junglee"?

His Quawali's were very popular too and was his speciality. The songs from Amar Akbar Anthony, Hum Kissi Se Kum nahin and many more timeless quawali's will always remain evergreen. We all miss this great voice and will always remember his melody till eternity.

taprial and mythman for your comments. That was the song that I have mentioned in the byte. thanks for finding the video and putiing it. Love that song and all other songs too. Was a great fan of Rafi, before I heard Kishore Kumar.

To Mohammad Rafi's Immortality!

As he is remembered and loved, so great is the assuredness of his place in (what some call) Heaven! That's right, he's relying on all of us to lift him to the great here-after! ... signed, Uncle MythMan---Big Fan of Hot Starlets like Keira Knightley - Advisor, Watch Me

Loss Of The Film Industry

Mohammad Rafi was a gem the film Industry cherished. Some of the movies went on to become hits just because of those melodious songs and Qawwalis. I still remember what magic that Qawwali from Amar Akbar Anthony created, Parda Hai, Parda Hai. Watch this song and you will know what i mean, Bare Essentials
