WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UVA AND UVB?

'UVB is responsible for sunburn. Its short wave lengths reach the outer skin layers and the dermis, the skin’s supporting structure, causing cellular damage to DNA which can cause skin cancer,' explains Dr. Nick Lowe, consultant dermatologist, The Cranley Clinic, London.

'UVA contains longer wavelengths that go deeper into the dermis damaging collagen, elastin and small blood vessels causing wrinkling and mottled redness on cheeks and the neck.'
