The weird emu dreams I have
posted March 11, 2008 - 3:58amOkay....I"m about to share with you some dreams I recently had.... weird dreams I might add. So if your not one of those faint of heart people...this might not be a story you want to hear. It all starts on this crystal clear blue night sometime back in December. I don't know what it was all about but to tell you bluntly without beating around the bush....I was being chased by emu's...in case you don't know what an emu is I'll tell you...an emu is a large, flightless Austrailian bird resembling an ostrich but smaller. Get the picture? Okay moving on. This is not the first time I had this dream...It's been a recuring dream. Over and over. Now I'll tell you the rest of the story in a minute but right now I have to tell you why I think emu's came to me in these dreams. I live on a horse ranch down in Florida and we have this neighbor who lives next door to us that has his property over grown with weeds and tall brush. It really looks like he lives in a jungle. You can't even see this guy or his house but he has pet emu's living on his property. I don't know how an Austrailian bird like that ended up in Florida but sure enough this guy's got em'. I know about these emu's cause one day I was mowing the grass and out pops behind the bush's this scary, sorry looking bird. (Ostrich's look sexier then these guys in my humble opinion). I didn't know what the $@% it was at first. I never seen an emu before. I thought it was some mutant radioactive bird. We just sort of stood there facing each other like a couple of cowpokes getting ready for a gun fight. I kind of just froze scared to death thinkin' this freak of nature was going to attack me if I tried to run. As I was slowly backing up...this emu would start walking towards me. If I took steps toward him...he would back up....Weird I know. But anyways....I managed to grab a rake that was sitting nearby and I sort of antagonized him trying to scare him away. But he would start flapping his wings at me and try to peck at me like a chicken while making these weird noises. At this point I was really freaking out cause I didn't know what to do. The horses were going nuts in their stalls and the dogs were barking at him. Finally it ran off in the weeds and off the property. I felt a sense of pride for a victory well won on my part. Then I went back to mowing the lawn cursing at him and thinking how that bird was messing with the wrong crowd. A few days later as I was leaving the property. I was driving down the dirt road in front of this guys house with the over grown weeds and saw this emu was ran over and killed by a Nursery truck. It was just like a scene in a movie with one leg crushed and the other over his head bent all out of shape and blood and guts and feathers flying all over the place. The guys that hit him said he just ran out of the bush's like he was on a suicide mission. Of course they were speaking in Spanish cause they were illigal immigrants working at the nursery. I'm just thinking that is what they said. I can't speak spanglish. As I was driving away while they were pulling his beak out of the grill of the truck, I was thinking how that bird deserved it. That is what he gets for being nosy and not staying put. Now back to the dream.....I think I was being chased by this very same emu that got hit. I think he got a bunch of other emu's and together started this gang where they will haunt my dreams forever.
