The Words Of A Nine Year Old

The Day I Lost My Stuff

BY JEHTT Raynor SCHOLTZ

One day I went to my friends house, we played games and we went outside. When we were done I went home. I got home and my mom said that there was a rule that when one of the three kids gets in trouble we all get in trouble.

My brother started yelling because my sister hit him, and then thats when it all started. I got my stuffed animal a seahorse named Oscar taken away because my brother was yelling.

Then I started to cry because my Aunt Boo baught me Oscar when I was three. About 15 minutes later he stared yelling again because I told him to shut up. The I got my stuffed animal horse named Laura taken away. Once again I cried.

AND THAT WAS THE DAY I LOST MY STUFF

DO WHAT? TO WHO? WITH WHAT?

Sounds like my days in junior high school. I never could understand the logic of punishing all for the transgressions of one. In other words, if the father of this household get arrested for whatever then we need to take the whole family to jail. Ok now I get it.

Whoa!

That sucks to have happened to any child. Group punishments, in my experience--including my time in the Navy, tend to be both arbitrary and patently unfair. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?
