Timelink – an environmental design company based in Dubai has come up with a design for a city which would occupy about 10% of the space required by a conventional city and will be carbon free.

Called "ziggurat," which means "to build on a raised area,", a pyramid shaped city on 2.3 square km area can house about 1 million people and will be totally self-sufficient for its energy needs.
