I am a muslim by faith,and I lost my mother four years ago she died on old years day and  we buried her on New

years and we will never forget this day as long as we meaning my father, eight brother and sisters. We have< p>

three days and fourty days prays for the dead and the yearly for their one year, and the dead is their with us until

their fourty days. That is why we bury our death so we have time with them to grieve and to let go slowly of them.

They does be from the grave to their home, from the crematory to their home, where ever they lived in the world

even if it was the streets it was their home. If they drowned or was murdered and their bodied were never found

they still come and go until their fourty days. My mother snapped the fan on for her fourty days prays so

we could know that she is there, after the fourty days the angle takes them to a place call the barzak, meaning

the waiting place, where they are living and waiting  in the spirt form for judgement day no matter what faith

you belong to. I know its true because I am a praying person and I believe in the spirt world, I still see her in my

dreams and she talks to me some times. You can help their soul even though they are dead by giving charity in

their names, and making prays for them and praying for them and begging God to forgive them their sins, all

human have made some sin some way in their live and is only God can remove them. You can still help them for

their three, fourty and yearly by putting a clean glass of water and a few dates or something sweet and a few

incense stick for them.  All you have to say I give you this in the name of God who made me and you and they

will get it We light incense stick for fourty days for them after their death, that is how you form a spirt connection

to them. All faith have the day  for the dead and they keep coming and going year after year all the time and if you

keep making offering for them on the day of the dead they will stay connected to you. I wrote this because I know

and saw how hard it is for us to lose out loved ones. But at the end of the line we all belong to God our creator

and we wll have to go back to him at different time that he has prescribe for us, our life don't belong to us, our

children, mothers, fathers,brothers and sisters are all in the hands of God. I hope this gives some of you some

peace of mind and some strength to cope and go on living after losing a loved one, you have to pray for them

and beg God to forgive them their sins.
