There ARE Acts of Random Kindness in the World

I went out to the store to pick a few things up. It took all the money I had in cash and I don't use credit cards. Well, I had failed to notice my gas guage in the car was on empty.

I heard the engine cough and knew exactly what was happening. I was out of gas. There was a gas station within yards of me but I had no money with which to pay and they don't accept personal checks for gas.

There was a lady talking on a cell phone on the other side of the gas pump I had rolled up to. I had a sad look on my face. She asked what was wrong and I explained and asked if I could have $1 to get gas to get home. She put $20 in the pump -- it was the kind that accepts cash at the pump -- and said, "here".

I thought she wanted me to put $1 in my tank and hand her the pump handle to put the rest into her tank. But she insisted I accept the entire $20 of gas.

Then, without asking if I had any money at home, she handed me some cash and rushed away so I couldn't refuse it.

Random acts of kindness do exist!
