Things Blessed or Cursed by Technology
posted August 26, 2009 - 2:09amDying technological products makes me reminisce-- sometimes sadly.
Here are some of those and some things which technology kills:
1. Enjoying Complete Privacy
Do you know that just by Google GPS, you can exactly locate anyone's abode when the person is on-line?
2. Video Games Arcade
While this is fading away in western countries, I don't think it would in the East. Why?
In the West, gamers can save money by playing at home. Not so in the East.
3. First 'Blind Dates'
Already 'dead by tech'. Who needs blind dates when you can get to know someone by networking?
4.Cassette Recorders and Tapes
This would only die-out on me when I can't buy these anymore. I prefer these to CD's or on-line music.
5.Landlines
Although landline phones are being killed by celphones, I believe landline will have its revenge when people will revert to it due to high celphone taxes. (see my post 'Landline's Revenge on Celphones').
6.Proper Grammar
I've been through a lot of discussions about this. And it's indeed a hot issue: Does textese really ruin proper
language?
7.Company Phone books
Who needs this clutter when you can have your entire address book in a celphone?
