Thousands under Potter's spell at midnight shows

Thousands of fans showed up at theaters throughout the city for sold-out shows of the fifth Harry Potter movie installment. Fandango, an online ticket seller, reported Tuesday evening that national sales for the movie were outpacing both "Spider-Man 3" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." Both of those films ended in the top 25 all-time domestic box office sales.

heh

Good one!

Perhaps...

Perhaps a more interesting storyline to bring the two movies together would be to have Harry make out with Hermione only to find out in the next movie that she is his sister...oh, wait, that's been done.

episode horrible

Yeah, the 1st one is bad, but it gradually gets better. I really liked Episode 3, but it's not as good as the original 3. Fortunately, Harry Potter seems to be getting better and better. Of course I've never read the books so all I can go by is the movie. I'm hoping in book 7 Darth Vader kills Potter just to make for an interesting cross-over. Or maybe Darth Maul could kill him and that would give more back story to Star Wars Episode 1. Just sayin'....

I spent ten years in the

I spent ten years in the Navy and we had an expression called "hurry up and wait" to describe being in a rush to get somewhere only to not get to do anything for a while. Even worse, on the ship or on base, there was a line for practically anything from eating chow to buying something from the store. My Navy experience is probably the foremost reason I eschew lines. I was a youngin' when the first Star Wars came out, which I saw on during the first week it was open and also saw Empire and Jedi the same way. After the disappointment of the first prequel (Jar Jar Binks--what's that all about?), I haven't bothered seeing the other two.

2 hours

Amount of time I waited for the midnight showing of Star Wars Episode 3. It was fun. However, I am not one to wait in long lines. I wouldn't have waited for Harry Potter.

I can see getting in line

I can see getting in line early to score tickets to a one-time sporting event or the concert-of-a-lifetime, but going through all that effort to see something that you can watch the next day and the next day and the next day (and so on) seems kind of silly to me.

Maybe now potter can be a synonym for crazy

Like He's gone completely potter or what a Potter? It releases on Friday and the plans opened today. Ticket.. Check back after a couple of weeks. People are really potter.

Imax

I got a chance to watch it at a sneak peek in a Imax last night. Wonderful movie. I'm sure it will make big bucks this weekend.
