Tilda Swinton, Winner of Best Supporting Actress Oscar

British actress Tilda Swinton has acted in a range of movies over the years, from art films and indie movies to mainstream works.

She won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing a corporate lawyer in "Michael Clayton," which starred George Clooney.

A bit of information about Tilda Swinton:

* age: 47; born: London

* acted in the Royal Shakespeare Company before beginning her movie career in the 1980s

* notable roles:
"Orlando," based on the novel by Virginia Woolf
"The Deep End"
"Adaptation"
"Constantine" (with Keanu Reeves)
"The Chronicles of Narnia"

supporting roles:
"Vanilla Sky" (with Tom Cruise)
"The Beach" (with Leonardo DiCaprio)

* personal life: Tilda Swinton has attracted controversy in England for her unusual living arrangements: she has been living with a partner, John Byrne, for a number of years, with whom she has two children, but they have never married. Swinton now has a new partner, but is continuing to live with Byrne.

Byrne supposedly has given his blessing to Swinton's new relationship.

I liked her in Constantine

That's when she first appeared on my radar, playing the archangel, Gabriel. Not unlike her real life, she has made a name for herself in Hollywood playing roles that are androgynous. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING

Tilda Swinton

Right, I forgot she was in that... I saw it in the theater when it first came out years ago. She was very good in "The Deep End" and especially "Orlando," in which she plays both female and male roles and people living in different centuries.

She's pretty good. I liked

She's pretty good. I liked her in Narnia. Also the movie Adaptation.
