Here are some tips if you are new to Ebay:
1. Before you buy something check to see if the seller has used other nicknames before. Constantly changing nicknames is a bad sign.
2. Look at the seller’s reputation and pay attention to the raters. It should be a mix of old and new members with varying user ratings on themselves. Fraudsters sometimes create fake accounts and give themselves ratings in order to sell a big ticket item to a victim at a later stage.
3. Give 100% of the details about the item you intend to sale. If one little aspect is left out it could result in negative feedback.
4. Have a descriptive about me page. The more credible you appear the more comfortable people will feel buying from you.
5. Research the prices that people are paying for items that you intend to sell before you sell them. This way you can determine whether you are likely to make a profit or not. You can do this with the advanced search function.
6. Take advantage of all the learning resources ebay has to offer before starting a serious selling program. This way you won’t be surprised about a roadblock in the future and will seem more professional to your buyers.
7. Ship items in standard professional packaging. Packaging and shipping times can have a major affect on user ratings.
8. Beware of scammers. If it seems to good to be true it probably is. Read the fine print on all auctions. One guy was selling an XBOX, people thought they were getting the gaming system but instead got an empty box.
9. Build up your reputation by purchasing low priced items and getting quality feedback.
10. Take a class in marketing and you will be ahead of 90% of the sellers on ebay.
