After over 30 years of being in the music industry, his style and sound has become incredibly refined. Classics like, "Don't Come Around Here No More" and "Runnin' Down a Dream" actually sound better now than when they were originally recorded. At the same time, his other classics have such a warm and personal feel that it is difficult to not have an emotional attachment to them.
It is impossible to tell if Petty will continue recording and touring. His laid back style and approach to music means that he could hang it up tomorrow or record and tour until he dies.
