Top 5 Classic Nostalgic Video Songs for Kids

So you thought classic black and white movies and songs were boring and uninteresting? Think again. Because here is some great stuff that your kid will love to watch.

Here are my top 5 video songs from hindi movies that are sure to hold the attention of kids (and adults too):

  • First song is from the classic comedy movie called "Half Ticket" featuring Kishore Kumar, Madhubala and Pran. It has a PG Wodehouse like touch of comedy. Kishore Kumar dons the attire of a dim witted school boy to travel in a train on half ticket as he has insufficient money. Things go out of hand after that. The movie has a simple story line but is a laugh riot. Here is the song that the kids will love to listen and shake a leg to:

  • Second song is picturised on Nargis Dutt and Raj Kapoor from the film Shree 420.

  • Third song is sung by Asha Bhosale and picturised on Geeta Bali in the film Vachan made in 1955. The song is very soothing to hear. Works as a nice lullaby as well.

  • Fourth song is sung by Mohd Rafi from the film "Ab Delhi Door Nahin". Energetic and fast song that will hold your toddler in rapt attention.

  • Fifth and last video song is non filmy cartoon from doordarshan (films dividion). It is called "eK se bane anek". This is very cute cartoon song which has a meaningful twist to it. Excellent spellbinding music.

There are other old classical songs too. But these are my top 5. My toddler finds all the above songs mesmerising and is easily spellbound by them.

You are welcome to add your song to this list.

Right Ho Mythman.....

Agree with the part about 'good' actors not being the famous ones. The converse is also true. Not all famous actors are good either....! DO the Write Thing & Get Paid Here

Anonymity: A Former Blessing to the Good Actor

Personally, no I did not recognize the person; and I still don't (not being cognizant of Hindi pop-stars). I know this conversation wasn't even directed anywhere near me, but this is Web 2.0 man! We the People taking over! Yeah! lol A bit of wisdom was made clearer to me, and/or my kyo was activated by the conversation. A 'good' actor is momentarrily [sp?] so-invested in a role as to be personally unidentifiable (e.g. I go to a Pirates of the Caribbean movie not to see 'Johnny Depp,' 'Orlando Bloom' and 'Keira Knightley,' but to see Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner Jr. and Elizabeth Swann ... odd how the last three are so much like the first three though). Nowadays, the 'good' actors are not necessarily the famous ones. Shame, that. With More Devotion to than Words Dare Express, Uncle MythMan

Thanks diamond4u, anuradha for your comments and addition. "Lakdi ki kathi" was one of my favorite too. By the way ; Did you notice that Urmila Matondkar is one of the child artist in this song? DO the Write Thing & Get Paid Here

I Probably Have Posted Those Videos - A Truth of Man-on-Net

(Hmmm, that would be a good character name, Manonnet ... ™ lol) I could give you the old "I don't wanna make this page load too slow"-excuse, but the truth is that the direct-profit from the ads on those videos doesn't go to me if I put them in this article. Need Little to Be in Joy

Mythman, i do agree when you say that parents actions dictates the condition that children grow in. But i suppose what as the kids grow up they lose innocence and become worldly wise. As kids we hardly need much to be happy and in joy. Like the above vids, they are simple and bubbly musical scores that can hearten an adult too. This is what is most noticeable about kids - they think from their hearts and forgive and forget quickly. Perhaps that keeps their innocence alive. Why don't you post those videos that you mention? Where the Pureness-&-Innocense Ends

You notice the p&i in the songs above because they all feature- and/or are for-children! Targeting an adult- or teen-audience, you need a draw. As indicated by 'entropy,' you'll catch more if you go 'lower' (i.e. naughtinesses-etc.) You probably saw a little of my acknowledgement of that fact with my previous devotion-picture (like the one below, but even more clævage!) very beautiful songs

kukku, these are very beautiful songs. so much pureness and innocence in them. very nice find.

But Existence Forces the Conditions Upon Us

When we were children, we had parents (and/or guardians and/or sitters etc.) to take care of all the "conditions." As we grew the powers to handle conditions ourselves, they were unloaded onto us by those who knew we could handle them. That's why the song goes, "Forget Your Troubles (not 'Discard Your Troubles Forever,' not 'Ignore the Responsability that Comes with Your Problem-Solving Power'), C`mon, Get Hap-py!"
