Tour de France Stage 18 -- Alberto Contador Wins Time Trial

Stage 18 of the Tour de France featured a  40.5 km time trial around lac d’Annecy in Annecy. Alberto Contador of Spain, the current leader, proved his worth once again by winning the day with a time of 48.30.  Lance Armstrong looks to have secured a place on the podium on Sunday by moving up a notch to third place.

Three stages remain in this year's Tour. Friday will feature a few minor climbs, but for the most part, the serious climbing is over.
