Travel with Harvard Museum of Natural History

Take an educational vacation with the Harvard Museum of Natural History Travel Program. The storied Harvard Museum of Natural History in Boston offers customized excursions to exotic locales.

The travel program vacations are designed to help travelers better understand the historical and cultural significance of the destinations visited. Travelers gain insight into important cultural and ecological issues. The travel program takes visitors to some of the world’s most unique and remote areas and hopes to inspire people to look at destinations with a new perspective.

Museum educators and Harvard scientists help design the travel programs each year. Programs are active and typically include travel over rough terrain; however, these are not “extreme” excursions. A healthy, active traveler will do just fine. Children, too, are welcome to journey with the travel program. Not all trip itineraries are geared toward children. The Harvard Museum of Natural History plans family trips that would be the best bet for families seeking this kind of travel.

Destinations include Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe, Oceania and the Polar regions. Depending on the excursion the trip may be overland, a cruise or by air travel. The destination will determine the mode of travel. Scheduled trips include Mexico Culture and Natural History, Jewels of the South Pacific and Africa an Exotic Journey.

Travelers do not have to be affiliated with Harvard University or a member of the museum to book travel. Find out how to take educational journey with the Harvard Museum of Natural History Travel Program. http://www.hmnh.harvard.edu/travel/index.html
