A Tribute to my Uncle!
posted March 6, 2009 - 7:56pmMy Uncle David, What can say about him, other than he was an inspirational man. He past away about 8 years ago in his early 50’s from a tragic car accident. He was a talented individual. He did everything from small TV appearances on Married with children, poetry, to charity work. Before he passed a movie was in the works I believe with Spike Lee. I don’t know what kind of part it was but I am sure he would have rocked it. He was the kind of guy that would given you the shirt off his back. He was a talented poet as well. Below is a poem he wrote and also some links to other poems he wrote. I want to share his talent and vision with you all and show you what I saw. He was the Best Uncle ever and I miss him dearly…. This is my tribute to him.
A Dance
Although our bodies swayed to the music,
We spoke hardly a word or two
Yet I listened to your
heart whisper gently
through the noise around us
Words so soft and shy
It seems sometimes
words cannot
describe the serenity
in a touch or the beauty
our eyes hold for us
Words are wasted on moments such as these
If only for a moment or
two, you made me feel
Like I belong-that I
Have a right to feel such happiness
For this I thank you
Oh God! how I
thank you!
