Troopergate Report: Palin Abused Power; Violated State Ethics Law

The long-awaited report into the Sarah Palin "Troopergate" matter has been issued, and it's said that the report finds that Palin unlawfully abused her power and violated the state of Alaska's ethics law. (Read a complete article below).

The bipartisan report involved an incident in which Palin fired the public safety commissioner after he refused to fire Palin's former brother-in-law from his job as a policeman.

The report found that Palin's personal ties were a "likely contributing factor" to the commissioner's firing.

Palin guilty of ethics law violation

The investigating body was *bipartisan*, Eggs... you seem to keep forgetting that. And Palin was actually in favor of the probe, until she was chosen as VP candidate, that is, and then the McCain campaign decided it would be better PR if she decided not to cooperate and pretended it was a "witch hunt."

Oh I get it SEO

So you are saying you have no divorce in your family and all of your families kids were perceived in wedlock. If so you are the minority in today's new culture of change. This culture just likes to condemn. It has no fixes. And it votes for Obama You are absolutely right about the bag of trash impersonating a Police Officer but are neglecting to see the reason for self preservation. And given the fact that the safety commission head was willing to overlook this guy is a bag of trash in a police uniform SEO you said that. It would have to leave one to wonder how many other issues the supposed top cop of the state of Alaska overlooked. The one he resisted to fire was known for drinking while driving the duty vehicle on the job during the time he was very emotional. That is the ingredients of a time bomb. I am only glad nothing ever did go wrong like in my home town and everyone grows up even us. Time heals all but it is the democrats who fabricated this issue. It is a personal matter and if not fabricated would not have been in the eyes of our friends over seas in the first place. Again the democrat strategy of make America look bad so they have something to save. I see no strengths only conniving Palin did not abuse her power

No denying

I said it before somewhere on here..There doesn't seem to be anyone denying that the cop in question is a bag of trash in uniform. I also think the whole Palin family situation up there in 'Mooseville' reeks of the Jerry Springer show. Personally I'm embarrassed that that show was ever so popular overseas because to some people that is how we, as Americans, are perceived. That was bad enough, but to have that same ilk brought into the White House is unconscionable. Click here to find out how you can get paid to post items like this. It's free and easy to join. In Real Life

This decision is purely a bunch of hot air coming from a Democrat with an agenda to smear. This is a State Personal Board issue not an ethics issue. I come from Colorado where a friend of mine was took by an enraged x husband soon to be. She was beautiful and a checker at the city market. He was a policeman too and it was about the same time this stuff was happening in Alaska. I love the Police, but I hate a rogue police. The only thing that has to do with ethics here is the lack of ethics of a particular Democrat called Branchflower. This is the character I am talking about. Willing to look the other way at evil to fabricate an issue meant to undermine honest authority. http://www.xomba.com/democrats_are_witch_hunt

Duly noted

I checked CNN and they have changed their lead-in, so I have changed mine accordingly. Their original headline said she "broke no law." The good news is, the CNN writers aren't any smarter than I am. The bad news is, the CNN writers aren't any smarter than I am.

Abuse of power

It is illegal and she was found to have broken the law concerning state ethics laws. It was her supporters who were saying she did not break the law and that the panel overstepped their authority by looking for ethics violations when they couldn't find anything else. The First Dude

Hmmm, I didn't know he was that involved. But if he took 7 months off work, he probably wasn't watching the kids the whole time.

Nuns with Guns

have God on their side, and they're armed, so I'd be hesitant to argue with them. But I'm uneasy about her abuse of power. I was quoting the original CNN headline, which may have been changed since the time I saw it: it said she "broke no law."

You'd have to ask her husband

He seems to have been CC'd on every state e-mail and sits in on nearly every meeting of state business. He could probably give you a better answer as to what is happening in Alaska than Sarah right now. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

State Ethics Violations

It states right off that she was guilty of ethics violations. "Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin abused her power as Alaska's governor and violated state ethics law by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police, a state investigator's report concluded Friday." My gut feeling is that she did expend extra effort and abused her power to push for his firing and does use her power for personal gain. I don't think that is someone that should be in any position of authority. I would like to see how much time she put into this particular issue (firing her ex-brother in law) as opposed to legitimate matters of state. But, hey, if Nuns With Guns Support Palin, how bad can she be?? Click here to find out how you can get paid to post items like this. It's free and easy to join.
