Trot Nixon Bites His Old Teammates in 11th Inning; Cleveland Ties Series
posted October 14, 2007 - 12:51amTrot Nixon had many big moments in his years playing for the Boston Red Sox. He had what turned out to be a game-winning hit Saturday night in Fenway Park, but not for the Red Sox: his pinch hit in the 11th inning won the game for the Cleveland Indians, for whom Trot Nixon is playing his first season.
With the win the Indians tied the ALCS at one game each.
Nixon's pinch hit in the 11th inning broke a 6-6 tie as Grady Sizemore scored to put the Indians ahead 7-6. The floodgates opened after that, and the Indians walked off the field at 1:30 am with a 13-6 win.
Game 3 is Monday night at Jacobs Field in Cleveland.
