The truth about naming it and claiming it

Bible_2.jpg And Jesus answering saith unto them have faith in God for verily I say unto you that whosoever shall say unto this mountain be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:22-23)

A lot of controversy has been brought about over the issue of name it and claim it, but in reality if anything is not in balance, it will be taken to the extreme. For example, water is a necessary part of life and if the body does not get it, the person will become dehydrated and die. So water taken from one extreme to the other will either drown a person or they will become dehydrated, but both will kill. The bible says that a false balance is an abomination but a just weight is his delight. First of all other scripture must compare with other scripture or a verse can be taken out of its original setting and context. A person cannot just say I want this or that and it will be granted. John 15:7 says if you abide in me and my word abides in you then you can ask what ye will and it shall be done.

The word if is what is called a conditional promise, meaning conditions must be met before God will answer the desire. The condition is if you abide in me and my word abides in you: Notice the word abide means to live or dwell. Once that promise is met by a person, what they will find themselves naming will be in accordance to the Fathers will and not their own will (1John 5:14) because they will name and claim what pleases the father for their life and not for something born out of selfishness. James 4:1 says from whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence even of your lust that war in your members? Ye lust and have not, ye kill and desire to have and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not because ye ask not. Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lust. Many people name and claim with their motive for doing so being for selfish reasons, so certainly God will not bring a persons selfish request to pass.

On the other side of things God initiated name it and claim it in the book of Genesis when he named Let there be light or light be!! and what he named and claimed, "happened along with everything else" in creation. This is what Jesus was saying in Mark 11:23 our beginning text above. He says to have faith in God (translated) have the God kind of faith. Most bibles have that translation in the center of the bible. To have the God kind of faith is to speak like God, claim and receive it. Everything God spoke he claimed and received, but he had to first name it and  then claim it. Jesus in John 11 walks up to the tomb of Lazarus and says Lazarus come forth! and he got what he named and claimed. He did not say Tommy or Susan, but he named Lazarus come forth and he got what he said. This principle can also work against a person because Proverbs 18:21 says that Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. For example people name and claim negative things into their life without realizing it. Some may say well I get the flu this time every year. Isn't it amazing how each year they get the flu? they named it and claimed it without knowing they did so. Here are other examples: Nothing good ever happens to me, I'm always broke, We never get along etc. Notice how those things become a reality in a persons life. This is why a person has come to the conclusion that it happens! and they create a cycle of repeating it over and over naming and claiming it.

The bible also says that by your words you shall be justified or condemned (Matthew 12:37)

Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. The reason is because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 15:18). Whenever a person gets hurt emotionally many times they will say something that they wish they had not, and those words set something in motion that was toxic to the relationship. Proverbs 3:1 says to write the law (God's word) upon the table of your heart. Psalm 1 says to meditate in his word day and night. Joshua 1:8 says this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but thou shall meditate therein day and night. Meditating on the bible conditions the heart and what a person has stored in their heart will surface out of the mouth. So name and claim the will of God for your life.Bible_2.jpg
