Tip 1: Perform a disk cleanup

One of the least used forms of increasing speed of a slow computer is to perform a disk cleanup.

The reason for a disk cleanup is that whenever you surf the internet or do any activity on the internet, your computer saves it.

Doing a disk cleanup is very simple. All you have to do is click "Start" on the lower left hand corner, then(in this order) Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disc Cleanup.

Tip 2: Remove Adware & Spyware

If you've had either of these you know the pain that they cause. But don't worry! It's an easy fix. There are many free adware & spyware removal tools.

A very good free one is by "LavaSoftUsa" just search for them on google and you'll find it easily.

Tip 3: Defragment Your Computer

Defragmenting is another way to increase your computers performance. It basically takes all of your files and puts them back into the right place.

To Defragment click on the "Start" button then Programs> Accessories > System Tools> Defragment.

Tip 4: Uninstall Old/Unused Programs

This is the oldest trick in the book when it comes to slow computer help.

To uninstall old/unused programs, go to "Start" >Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs.

Tip 5: Clean Your Registry Files

Nothing will help your computer run more efficiently than clean registry files. It will help fix errors, general slowdowns, and any other problems your computer might face.
