Twitter-licious, or how my readership doubled!
posted August 26, 2009 - 3:36pmI have been following the rise in readership of my humble postings, my Xombytes and Xomblurbs. I know there's this whole Adsense engine rumbling in the background, and to keep the engine humming (and, presumably, generating income) you have to stoke the fire with readers at a fairly constant level. But I have yet figured out how to run Adsense metrics. So I follow the readership numbers instead.
That, and read the Xombyte advices about increasing the fan base. There's a lot about linking each piece to Twitter, say, or to Digg, or Reddit. My biggest social netwrok group is on Facebook. I have had an ongoing Twitter account, but have never paid much atention to it. What I've done with Xomba, however, is link my Twitter to Facebook. And the results, vis a vis Xomba readers? They doubled within an hour! And that was only linking two Xombytes!
To do what I dd: Open a Twitter account if you don't have one. You will have an option to check a box that keeps all your Twiter postings private. Do not check the box. Leave it blank. Then, go to your Facebook home page and search for Twitter. You'll get the Twitter logo, and if you click on it and follow the instructions you'll link Facebook and Twitter. You'll see a button at the top of the last Facebook page you come to that allows you to post from Twitter to Facebook as well as the other way around. You want to click on that.
And you are done. Simply open one of your Xombytes and copy the url. Then, in Twitter, write a clever come hither headline and paste the url. When you post to Twitter yo will not only reach everyone following you, but you'll also come up on Facebook.
Be sure to jump back from your computer. You might get trampled.

TwitterFeed Automatically Feeds Your Twitter-Page
Find your Xomba-Feed address & give it to TwitterFeed.
That way--instead of logging long surfing-hours heading over to Twitter every so-often, you can spend that time writing more Xombage for TwitterFeed to post on Twitter.
