U.S. Declares War on Mexico

U.S. Declares War on Mexico

The United States border patrol has been firing tear gas and other projectiles at the Mexicans, not on United States soil but at the residents living along the border. This is something that amounts to an undeclared war. Residents along the border on the Mexican side complain that it is not the residents that are goading and baiting the border patrol but those that would cross into the United States. However, it is the residents that pay the price. Children and elderly are indiscriminately tear gassed along with those that would break the law and cross into the United States.

Border patrol agents complain that smugglers and those wishing to cross into the United States throw rocks across the border at them. How can we compare someone throwing a rock to someone firing a rocket launcher? WE CAN’T. It just does not compare.

Has the United States become the world’s biggest bully? How far have we come that we are willing to sacrifice the young and old? Would it hurt the border patrol to back off a hundred yard, the distance of a foot ball field? Not many men can throw a rock from goal post to goal post. Perhaps it is more satisfying to gas children, women and the elderly.

We as Americans are losing the moral high ground at an alarming rate. We torture, bomb innocent children and families, declare war simply because we can, all in the name of freedom. At some point the world will sigh a sigh of despair and collectively will call the United States to task. And just what are we going to say? That we did it in the name of freedom. That we did it in the name of oil. That we did it because we could.

I am an American. I used to say that with pride. Now I just say it. For more information concerning the border patrol transgressions on the Mexican people please read the this article: http://apnews1.iwon.com/article/20071217/D8TJF7980.html

So, if we fight back, we're the bullies?

The Mexican Army and drug cartels (often one and the same) have been making armed incursions into the United States for years now--as evidenced by Border Patrol agents--and the US government doesn't give a flying fig. Nobody seems to care about the safety of the brave souls who stand guard on America's frontier with a corrupt and lawless country armed only with a semi-automatic rifle and a radio and who are regularly outnumbered and outgunned by regular army troops and heavily armed drug runners. Yet, when some troops have the flippin' audacity to defend both themselves and the border--both of which they have a RIGHT and OBLIGATION to do, they become the assholes? Why aren't you out there demanding that people who are purportedly not criminals, not drug runners, and not tied in any way to the Mexican government actually wait their turn to enter the US LEGALLY? Why is it always the responsibility of the US government (read: American taxpayer) to provide food, shelter, clothing, jobs, and welfare to everyone who can run, swim, or crawl into this country? Why shouldn't MEXICO take care of MEXICANS? There's a novel idea.
