U.S. Department of Homeland Paranoia & Stupidity

U.S. Department of Homeland Paranoia & Stupidity

We really know how to make visitors coming to the U.S. feel welcome, these days. What other country fingerprints all visitors arriving at our airports? Now it appears that everyone planning a trip to our country will have to electronically apply for approval as part of the Visa Waiver Program. Boy, if Americans had to go through crap like that to get into foreign countries, you could imagine how many would be screaming their heads off.
Hell, how many nations demand their own citizens fill out a friggin' questionnaire just to get back into their own country? Like it's anybody's business but my own where I've been and what meaningless merchandise I'm bringing back.

I absolutely love some of the questions they are now asking foreigners. Here are a couple of real beauties, right off the stupid site:

B) Have you ever been arrested or convicted for an offense or crime involving moral turpitude or a violation related to a controlled substance; or have been arrested or convicted for two or more offenses for which the aggregate sentence to confinement was five years or more; or have been a controlled substance trafficker; or are you seeking entry to engage in criminal or immoral activities? *

C) Have you ever been or are you now involved in espionage or sabotage; or in terrorist activities; or genocide; or between 1933 and 1945 were you involved , in any way, in persecutions associated with Nazi Germany or its allies? *

Yeah, that's going to be seriously effective at keeping the criminal element out of the US. If anyone answers yes to either question, they should be allowed right in. Anybody stupid enough to announce their intentions is not going to be a very successful terrorist, that's for sure.

Of course, it's quite possible we might just nab a few 95 year old former SS officers. If they're senile enough, who knows.

You just can't make this stuff up, folks.

Homeland security is a joke

And a bad one at that. If we had spent half the money securing this nation that we spent on the war in Iraq...well, 'nuff said.

Ah, lmorovan, King of the Projectionists

At this rate, debating you Neocons, I can market my own brand of playing cards. It's pretty amusing from my perspective to see you sputtering through your defense of genocide and imperialism by the U.S. government and demanding to know what I've contributed to my country. You, sir, are a Master Projectionist as you prove to the English-speaking world that you are a master at projecting your own insecurities and emotional issues on people with whom you do not agree. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

Isn't there a CIA, NSA, FBI, and other alphabet agencies?

You toss the canard "domestic reactionary liberal anarchists" around, as if you know what you mean, yet you are ignoring the very real fact that the U.S. government spends BILLIONS of dollars every year in overt and covert operations that are allegedly designed to protect this country. If memory serves, the Congress was firmly in Republican control from 1995 to 2007, which means that Republicans had oversight and budgetary control of the intelligence services. If we are to believe you, the ignorance of our government into who was already in the country and lousy government oversight of our borders was magically corrected with the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. Further, if DHS is on the job now, then why is our southern border with Mexico still wide effin open? What kind of security is that? Oh, but I have a job for you. Why don't you take a page from your vaunted DHS and lock yourself in a closet sealed with plastic sheeting and duct tape? DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?

May I remind you that it was America that was attacked on 9/11? Attacked by foreigners who entered the country with legal visas and passports? Foreigners who come to visit our country, come to visit a country that is conducting a world wide war against international terrorism. If they don't like our security, stay home. The stupid and shameless side is, no tourist complain about it, only domestic reactionary liberal anarchists do. The same who would hand over America to the enemy on a silver plate. I wonder if they are actually paid to sell out our country. To read my posts and articles click here: http://www.xomba.com/xombyte/lmorovan

This is only for those bothering to use the front door...

The Department of Fatherland Homeland Security is quite the oxymoron. None of the legislation enacted by the Bush Administration has ever really addressed the souther border of our country. The actions of Bush and Congress seem to indicate that DHS is only there to curtail the rights of ordinary Americans and other law-abiding visitors to our country, while paying lip service to real security.
