21 - Sep 2006 - Ubisoft accidentally reveals secret games, including sequels to some of the industry's hottest titles.

Via its online assets server, Ubisoft publicly made available a 2 gigabyte file today, containing media revealing, amongst other things, unannounced games.

The confidential details, screenshots, artwork and video footage confirmed the development of a new Prince of Persia game, Splinter Cell (5) Conviction, as well as FarCry and Rocky for Sony's PSP.

Ubisoft has released an official statement, which reads as follows:

"We are clearly displeased that confidential information from Ubisoft has been distributed on the internet. The publication of this type of information can only be harmful to the game development process and we will take all steps necessary to prevent this from happening in the future. We are still investigating the events that lead to this information leak and at this time have no further comment."

Media was released for other games, including FarCry Vengeance, Naruto, Lost, Open Season, TMNT GBA, Splinter Cell 4 and Assassins Creed.
