Follow the UEFA Euro 2008 on Soccernet ESPN! Of course us Europeans knows that it's not called soccer but football, who knows where soccer comes from? It's of course called football because you use your feet to kick the ball! It's not complicated! So please Americans ,when talking about european football do NOT use the term soccer! Keep soccer for yourselves! It's football!

Anyway, follow the UEFA Euro 2008 coverage on ESPN soccernet by following this link

Believe it or not - Soccer is a bastardized version of Football Association - the Football governing body in England started in 1863. They apparently broke it down to assoc. From there it went from soca to soker to soccer.

It takes some serious associative skills to come up with that one:-)

Thanks for the answer
