Should it surprise this happened in the country of our "ally" Saudi Arabia? Probably not.

The victim--who was gang raped--was sentenced to six months in jail and 200 lashes, which was double the initial sentence of being in the same car as a male not her relative. The sentence was apparently doubled because she had the audacity to express her outrage in public and this was said to be an attempt to influence and aggravate the court via the media.

Yes, the seven rapists had their sentences almost doubled in the decision, but, please, a victim is a victim. In a further display of justice, the court banned her attorney from defending her and revoked his license to practice law.

Note: There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that George Bush is planning on inviting the judges to the US to act as consultants with the Department of (In)Justice.
