Universal Pictures Presents
posted August 22, 2009 - 3:36amWith a kiss and in my red lipstick-
i'll draw the universe on your fist-
and just remember this...
you'll have to memorize a whole nights sky,
-full of stars- every single star-
Way before you could ever, ever say:
"I know that girl like I know the back of my own hand"
Because you don't even know me at all.

Because I need at least 150 characters and the poem is short, I'll write my thoughts about the poem. There really is no certain form. It doesn't rhyme, and it has no certain rhythm. There isn't really any symbolism. It's pretty straight foward. The poem basically states that you can never really know a person because every individual is as intricate as the stars and all the universes. So in comparison, it would be easier to memorize an entire night's sky, than to understand the human mind. I wrote this poem several months ago. I originally planned on going back and revising it so that it had some type of poetic form. More structure, however I read over it, tried to revise it, and realized I didn't like it at all any other why I put it.
