Unlock Your Creativity

You want to write but everytime you sit in front of a monitor you simply can't move your fingers to type. The longer you sit, the more you mind wonders and soon you give up. You are suffering a what is commonly known as writer's block and you need to get your creativity juices flowing again. Here are 7 ways to unlock your creativity and generate more ideas.

1. Believe

Simply believe you are more creative. Trust yourself that you are capable of creativity. Think in positive terms and avoid negative feelings. The mind is a wonderful creation and is capable of attracting what is impressed on it. Impress on yourself that you are creative and soon you will be.

2. Set No Boundaries

Do not limit your thoughts. Don't be practical. Think outside the box.

3. Break The Rules

Many inspired inventions came about because someone had the courage to break certain rules. Elvis became king of rock n roll because he broke the rule of blues music. Henry Ford broke the rules of mass production. Alexander Graham Bell broke the rules of telegraph and came with telephone.

4. Think Visually

The human brain naturally thinks in pictures. All great inventors saw in their mind before putting pen to paper. Nikola Tesla, the great Serbian inventor saw in his mind how the induction motor worked before sketching it on paper. Einstein saw himself riding a wave of light before discovering the the theory of relativity.

5. Compare & Combine

Compare things around you and combine.Compare a fridge and a washing machine and then combine. Microwave oven, compact disc, sewing machines are just some examples of inventors comparing and combining existing equipments before them.

6. Get More Input

The best way to achieve this is to keep a journal and record down everyday the things that you see and the thoughts that goes through your mind.

7. Have Fun

Learn to look at the funny side of things. Humour can help to clear the haze that clouds the mind and bring light astonishing solutions.
