This is a poem I wrote about the struggle and the process of being able to forgive our abuser(s). It is no small task and has many emotional aspects.  However, once the process has begun, there is more and more freedom for the survivor of the abuse.  Forgiveness actually frees us from the bondage placed upon our soul by the abuser(s).  Forgiveness is more about OUR freedom than the abuser's freedom.  May you find peace, joy and yes, freedom in your own personal recovery process.
