A brush in the wind and it’s gone.
Was it even really there?
Behind you, quick!
The sharp kiss of ivory razors
on your precious flesh.
Just one kiss
One last caress
And all you’ve ever known in
lost.
Gasp, cry, howl
No one can save you now.
The venom is inside you
Dancing through your blood like cheap whiskey.
Shadows hold you and comfort you,
Walk you through the door.
Soon it will be over.
Survive or die.
It all comes down to this one moment.
If you die, you are gone forever.
If you survive, you are not the same.
No longer living.
Not quite dead.
Forever lusting for that rich, warm embrace
That brought you to your fate.
Once deflowered, always a whore.
Keep telling yourself it was the real thing.
But when you look in the mirror
You know you were just one night’s three course meal.
