Upright or Chest Freezer: Which Freezer is Right for You?
posted November 3, 2009 - 9:40pmThis is a question just about everyone asks themselves when looking at freezers. Let's look about some things you should bear in mind.
You should know that chest freezers are taking more floor space than uprights, sometimes even two times more. Your decision will surely be affected with this, if you are living in an apartment.
But the good news is that a small chest freezer will cost you less in the start, will save more energy while it works, and will give more space for you to use when compared to an upright freezer. But they can be a pain to search through when fully loaded.
Upright compact freezers have several important advantages over chest freezers. They are easier to fill and you are able to find items that have been stored. You won't have to spend an entire day just to find those frozen peas you bought in the store 4 weeks ago. Many uprights have auto defrosting ability. A large number of chest freezers are made to be manually defrosted,
Whichever one you decide to purchase now or in the future, make sure you take good care of it. If you do that, you will have a freezer with you for a long time.
