Cynthia Leigh (born May 26, 1984 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA) is an internationally-known cosplayer, semi-professional model/actress, and net idol. She started cosplaying in March 2002 when she was introduced to the idea at Crescent City Con. A year later she began modeling at the urging of a friend, to obtain professional photos of her costumes. She went on to do convention-based promotional work for anime and manga companies like Anime Network (see ADV Films). She has become a celebrity within the cosplay world, as a panelist for Katsucon, Animenext, Numa Rei-No Con, Crescent City Con, CoastCon, & CoastCon Jr. She has modelled at A-kon's EGL Runway Show (US, 2004), in Cosplex (Japan, 2004), Cosplay: Catgirls and Other Critters(US, 2006) , Dragon*Con's Annual Dawn Contest & DVD (US, 2006). She has worked as an extra in the films A Perfect Day, Just My Luck, and College. In 2006, she started doing digital colorist work for comic and manga companies, writing articles for Associated Content, and shooting stock photography for sites like istockphoto. She also launched her own clothing and accessories line, AmericanGeiko by Cynthia Leigh, currently sold through Etsy.
