Ken Korczak

Born and raised in tiny town in northwestern Minnesota, grew up working in my mom and dad's grocery store. Bachelor's degree in journalism from Winona State University, worked several years as daily newspaper reporter. Later worked as government communications officer. Taught writing at University of North Dakota, 5 years. Served my country as a VISTA Volunteer for two years, living on a subsistence stipend, helping poor people. Also have worked as a grant writer --- been freelance writing for 20 years. Every fall, I spend two weeks driving a sugar beet truck to prove I am still macho and can do hard labor.

Amateur astronomy, reading every book in sight and/or existence, lucid dreaming, Zen meditation, mountain bike riding !! gardening !! photography, enjoying my cats and dogs, Ouija board channeling, peanut butter gargling, nude welding, riding on the wings of the Space Shuttle ....

In my opinion, Jack Vance is the greatest writer of the past century, so all of his numerous books.
