Residing in New England, Lisa is a freelance writer.   While she enjoys writing articles on assignment, she also enjoys writing as a hobby.  Many of her Xombytes are the results of those "writing-what-I-feel-like-writing" moods most writers experience.   Some, more than others, would qualify as "articles". Some, more than others, would be better described as "just thoughts".

Writing isn't always about just getting the words down, or out, or even read. It is about pulling from the universe just the right number and combination of words and allowing them to join hands to come to life.

Home Town:
Boston area
Hobbies:

Reading, writing, and music

Favorite Movies:

This will seem silly, but -  animated children's movies. It has to do with the animation, the music, the lightness of them.

Of course, no respectable adult would not include good dramas; and no respectable woman would not include romantic comedies.

Favorite TV Shows:

For laughs, Two and A Half Men, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and the late-night talk shows.

For information and news, all the "talking-heads" news programs and Nightline.

Just because it's a nice show, CBS Sunday Morning.

Favorite Music:

Instrumentals, popular music, broadway themes, movie themes, and classical

Favorite Books:

Non-fiction

Lisa HW's Wall

Cropped Dais Edit.jpg

Lisa is a freelance writer, residing in New England.  When she's not writing on assignment she enjoys writing as a hobby because it gives her the chance to write about things that particularly interest her.  Besides having worked in a corporate environment and areas related to marketing, medical procedures and products, and infectious diseases;  Lisa has written straight news and features for local daily and weekly newspapers.  With two grown sons and a grown daughter she now has the time to do a little more of that "hobby writing", which pretty much includes most types of writing.  Not at all confident enough to claim the title of "poet", Lisa prefers to say she "dabbles" in poetry from time to time.

As a way of organizing her online writing, Lisa has created blogs relating to parenting and children, adoption, premature babies, stresses of daily life, being over 50, positive aspects of being a woman, drunk driving, people living with money worries, writing online, and others.  With only so much "hobby-writing" time, some of the blogs (more than others) could use a little more updating; but for now they serve the purpose of organizing writing into "themes".

Since Lisa says she does actually have a life,  she doesn't have a lot of time to keep up with her blogs as much as someone with a blog should; but she's finally decided to stop hoping nobody will find them online and just include them in her profile.   For what they're worth (or not worth), here are some URL's:

Lisa's Collection http://lisahuntwarren.blogspot.com/

This was Lisa's original blog, which she started as a way of putting miscellaneous writing in one place.  It evolved to be a kind of "hub" blog - a central, general, site around which other, more specific, themes are centered.

No Senior Coffee - A Forum for Youthful Boomers http://noseniorcoffee.blogspot.com/

As the name suggests, this blog was started with the idea that nobody should "go gently into any good nights".  Lisa's aim is to put together something for mature people that is not focused on things like arthritis and retirement planning.

Drunk Driving - Lisa Comments http://lisahwarren.blogspot.com/

This abbreviated blog is actually the result of a wish to make people think a good, long, time before ever drinking and driving, or speeding.  This one is personal and a matter of, "Hey, here's the Internet, here's me, why not try to send a message."

Lisa Light - Humor, Fluff, and General Foolishness http://lhwarren.blogspot.com

To be honest.  Lisa Light is one  started because Lisa so often writes so much serious material, and because she started the drunk driving blog.  She wanted to offer something light, fun, and inspiring.  Besides, she wanted to send the message that being a woman isn't such a bad thing to be.

Adoption - Love, Lisa http://www.adoptionlwarren.blogspot.com

This is another one that's personal.  These days it sometimes seems as if there is a war on adoption, particlarly closed adoption.   Having been blessed with the privilege of being mother not just to the two children she had herself, but to one she didn't; and having experienced the truly whole bond that can exist between adoptive mothers and children; Lisa wanted to share.

Lisa's Children's Corner - On Parenting, Kids, and Education http://www.lisahw.blogspot.com/

This one is just Lisa's personal beliefs about children, parents, and education.  She has some experience, and she likes to think she has a little knowledge and quite a bit of common sense (in this area, anyway); so Lisa writes about children quite a bit.

Poverty Theory - Addressing poverty and money concerns http://www.povertytheory.blogspot.com

This one needs some more development, but it's Lisa's social conciousness showing.  Her aim is to offer information, resources, and helpful tips; as well as shed some light, on the causes/challenges of people living with financial struggle.

Dabblings in Verse  http://lisasdabblings.blogspot.com/

As the name implies, this is a blog with poems and light verse.  As it also implies, Lisa only dabbles.  Some of the poems she kind of likes.  Some, she thinks are pretty much junk.   She says, " Oh well, I only write them as a way of taking a break from other writing and seeing if I can come up with something I like".

Blogging on Blogging and Online Writing http://bloggingonbloggingandonlinewriting.blogspot.com/

This one is Lisa's attempt to share what she knows  - so far - about writing online.  It's fairly new, and it's the one she thinks of as her "business side" blog.

For Moms of Premies http://www.momsofpremies.blogspot.com/

For Moms of Premies is actually online kind of prematurely, itself; but this one is another one that is personal.  Lisa just wanted to offer some reassurance, or at least "sisterhood" (and resources) to mothers who have premature babies.

Storm Clouds and Wind Chimes http://stormcloudsandwindchimes.blogspot.com/

Storm Clouds and Wind Chimes focuses on the "frazzle-ment" of day-to-day living, as well as some of the larger challenges that can bring clouds to an otherwise sunny life.

Lisa's Exploding Head http://lisasexplodinghead.blogspot.com/

This one she doesn't take too seriously.  It's not very old, and she started it to have a place to "yell about" all the foolish things in life that make her feel like the old head just may explode.  Everybody needs a place to write about the stuff that makes them crazy.  Lisa has some big plans for this one, but there's only so much time to devote to the foolish (and yet infuriating) things in life.  Lisa admits that another reason she was inspired to create this blog was to be able to express her "mean side".

And then there's:  Just Stuff - Lisa's Potpourri
