The last we heard from Mrs. Dennis Kucinich she was helping her husband run for the Democratic nomination for president.  These days, Elizabeth is the the director of public affairs for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), and lately she's  been campaigning on Capitol Hill in support of the Great Ape Protection Act, a bill designed to end invasive biomedical experimentation on chimpanzees.

As someone who has witnessed up close the gut-wrenchingly severe psychological and physical damage done to chimps who've been cruelly experimented upon, I believe this law is a no-brainer.  Chimps are our closest relatives.  They suffer just like we do.  Experimenting on great apes is absolutely unconscionable.  And besides, animal experimentation has not lived up to its PR.  It's just plain lousy science.  But tragically, all the grant money that bolsters the animal experimentation industry keeps it going.
