Vincenzo: The beginning...
posted August 29, 2006 - 3:15amThe wild life of the hedonistic, jet-setting playboy brought with it notoriety. Something that Vincent loved. Living life to the fullest and spending as much of his family’s money as possible was his main goal, no, his only goal in life. Anything that involved excessive drinking, debauchery, and danger attracted him. Vincent was never interested in running the family business, that global technology conglomerate that his father and his father's father poured their lives into. He saw the toll it took on them. And he was determined that nothing would ever drag him down. Not after seeing what the twelve to sixteen hour days his elders put into the company did to them as he grew up.
So when his parents died in that horrific plane crash he, after an appropriate amount of mourning decided that it was time for him to do what they had never had time to do, live life to its fullest. Spending his days painting and sculpting and his nights playing loud, obnoxious music and spending time in the company of as many beautiful women as possible was his desire. While he retained a majority interest in the company he sold off a large portion of the rest and turned over the operations of the company to his father's most trusted advisors. Citing an inability to continue on in the company due to the loss of his parents he stepped out all active positions and turned his energies to his art and his quest for danger and excitement.
Vincent soon became interested in the occult as a way to remove the one nagging worry in his life, death. He spent years traveling the world attempting to learn the secrets of the ancients. He was certain he would find what he was looking for, the one thing that would keep him from doing what all of his ancestors had done....died.
It was the summer of his thirtieth year when he was in Italy crawling around the ruins of ancient Rome and thumbing through the ancient texts to which money and privilege allowed him access. He was certain he would find the answers he sought there after a decade of searching.
While sitting in an upscale Tuscan nightclub in the heart of Florence, listening to some friends perform, he met a young woman who would change his life. She was tall and fiery haired, a rarity in this particular locale. She told him she had been following his adventures across the world, as were many women he knew at the time. They all wanted to be near him in the hopes of being the recipients of his outrageously flamboyant generosity, wit and charm.
Valeria Medici, daughter of one of the local Italian noble families of old and so much more. For several months Vincent submitted to her charm and beauty and completely forgot about his search for immortality. Until one fateful day when all the secrets he had been seeking suddenly found him.
Valeria described to him a culture of like-minded individuals, some of whom he had met with her over the past several months. People who wanted to cheat death one way or another and who lived their "lives" to the fullest. She told him that they had been very interested in him for some time and that they wished to meet with him.
